Birthday Reflection

Birthdays are great for reflection and gratitude – and cake. As I celebrate today, I’m reminded of the lessons I’ve learned as a leader and houser striving to make a difference.

My inspired takeaways from having cake for breakfast🎂 :
▶️ Adaptability – Life throws curveballs and sometimes life is not fair. Yet, 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 and learning fuels growth.

▶️ Celebrate Wins – Birthdays remind us to appreciate the journey. Similarly, in the workplace, each milestone (big or small) deserves 𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

▶️ Invest in People – Just like our relationships enrich our personal lives, building 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 is the heart of leadership and the secret to corporate success.

▶️ Driven by Mission – For me, the work of advancing affordable housing is deeply personal (more on that later). This mission keeps me focused because the impact is 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Cheers to this birthday reflection. Staking a flag in the ground. Ensuring everyone has a safe, stable place to call home.

Another year of repurposing one’s own life to help others. A true hand up. Not even closely defined as a handout.
