Where Ideas Take Flight

Some of the most iconic concepts started as doodles and sketches: Starbucks’ first pitch was scribbled on a napkin. The idea for Shark Week? Jotted down on a cocktail napkin during an ‘80s lunch brainstorm.

Some of my best ideas hit mid-flight, with nothing but whatever I can journal on. There’s something about that undistracted time in the air. It can be golden.

This time, my notebook was packed … so I grabbed the next best thing. Sort of. Then had to translate those barf bag notes later in the week.

I highly recommend a “𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 → 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝” approach for turning messy thoughts into impact:
✅ Grab it: napkin, scrap paper, or even a barf bag.
✅ Organize it: refine and outline your ideas once you’re grounded.
✅ Act on it: turn writing into stories, better housing programs, and meaningful compliance improvements.

As 2025 winds down, I’m committing to sharing more ideas and using my voice to strengthen the programs and communities we serve.

Your ideas matter.
Your voice matters.
Your best practices matter.

And sometimes, you just need to be a little scrappy to make it happen.

📸 Yes, that photo is exactly what it looks like. And I did let the airline staff know to restock their supplies.
