I met my younger self for coffee…

I met my younger self for coffee. She was 20 minutes late and I was 10 minutes early. She ordered a caramel frappuccino - extra whip, no hesitation. 😯 I held my nonfat latte and smiled.

🏳️ She was eager and driven, but the closed doors left her disheartened.
🏳️ She carried the weight of housing insecurity, weary from struggles she never asked for.

💌 I told her it would all work out - what feels like a setback now is actually a superpower.
💌 I listened to her doubts but reminded that her instincts will always be her north star.
💌 I gave her hope that these struggles wouldn’t break her - they would ignite a passion to uplift others.

What a path --- that has brought me to advocating for those facing housing insecurity, pushing for real solutions, and working toward a future where safe, stable, and affordable housing is a reality for all.
