Changing the Trajectory
Statistics say I could have become a lot of things.
Homeless. Stuck in unstable housing.
Defined by the circumstances I was born into.
Another statistic from a system that too often predicts outcomes before people have the chance to write their own story.
So, when I connected with Ruth White, a champion for Foster Youth Independence (FYI) vouchers, it felt like more than a professional connection.
Ruth has spent years fighting for young people who are aging out of foster care, making sure they have more than a temporary place to land. Through FYI vouchers, young adults can have the stability of housing and the support they need to build independence, pursue education, find employment, and create their own future.

Yet another reason the work Ruth champions is a reminder that a voucher is never just a voucher.
I'll drop the link in the comments; don't let the hoops prevent your PHA from fast-tracking these vouchers!
