Think about the first “𝐧𝐨” you ever got for something that really mattered to you.
More importantly ...
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭?
Years ago, my son told me he wanted to play basketball and try out for the school team. I looked at him and thought, Really? He was under 5'0, wasn't built for the game, and had never played. So, I said no.
He then took my no as a challenge, as kids do. And stacked chairs on top of a dumpster, climbed up, and used them to get enough height to throw down a dunk. Just to prove me wrong.
Now, years later, I wrote an entire chapter in my new book 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞'𝐬 𝐧𝐨.
I call it "Hold On" and it's a leadership skill that can be learned.
My son needed me to see what was possible before he had proven it to me.
The "Hold On" moment allows you to see what can happen ... before you decide it can't.
