They Told Me To Quit College

I remember sitting in a financial counselor’s office during college and having no idea how to close the tuition gap. They offered no advice. Even worse, they said I may not be able to continue.

I left their office devastated.

Being raised by a single mother, I was the first child to venture off to college with no obvious financial well to draw from. There hadn’t been child support for years and there definitely wasn’t college assistance.

How many times has someone spoken over you that you weren’t going to make it? Some of us have been hearing that for decades. Yet, here we are.

Are restrictive words louder than the belief in your potential and the plans you've made? Make your own voice matter.

Don't allow your story to end where other’s perceptions land, or the lack thereof.

Let’s win today and reach a hand to help others as well.
