Homeward and Grounded

Today’s my birthday. And I’m headed home after a week of work travel … 4 different airports in 5 days.

I’m tired. My sleep cycle is off.
The excessive coffee intake and cupcake lunches? Delicious, but whew.
I miss my kids, and I’m braced for the beautiful chaos and messy house when I walk in the door.

Yet, this week …
✨ I shared space with people who believe deeply in affordable housing,
✨ swapped wisdom and laughs with my consulting team, and
✨ watched our Newark office push toward year-end metrics.

Even in a whirlwind week, 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. And I can be grounded in 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬.

This weekend will bring me back to center.

My birthday surprise: purpose shows up in small moments, even the tired ones ... and grounding + community are real gifts. 🎂💛
