From Parking Spots to Leadership Lessons

My daughter asked me to help paint her senior parking spot ... so we both drank coffee and watched. Follow me for more lessons in leadership.

Seriously though, let's talk about the intersection of parenting and work life. Here’s what I’ve learned:

📌 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: In our household, there are no fixed roles— it's about what needs to be done. We play to our strengths. For example, my spouse handles all the medical appointments, prescriptions, and sicknesses because it’s not my forte. I also don't do the laundry ... winning.

📌 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Early on, we had to figure out how to juggle. Regularly, we pull out the reality check card to see what’s working and what needs adjusting.

📌 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Where you work, what you do, and who you work with inevitably impacts your home life. Be selective about where you invest your time and talent. (Thank you Quadel!)

Delegation, recognizing complementary skill sets, and conducting gap analysis are crucial both at home and in the workplace.
